I have an old Johnson boat motor I would like to sell or trade. It is a Model OD 12. It seems to be in running condition but gets no fire out of the coil. I suspect it has a bad coil, but it may be as simple as a bad condensor or wiring. Carb may need work also, not ignition why work on Carb. The motor is located near McNeal, Arizona. I acquired it from a friend that purchased it on a boat from an old man. The man stated that he was riding the motor cut off and wouldn’t re-start. I did take off head and pistons do have a little much movement from side to side ( rings). NO scarring or cracks on cylinder walls.. For Sale: Lower Unit Mercury, Mariner 150-225HP Outboard Gearcase. NEARLY NEW, excellent condition. The lower unit is in excellent condition.  Mild scraping on one side of skeg from sand, etc. (see pictures).  It was purchased brand new from Mercury on 4/29/2000 and installed on a 1990 Mercury 200.  Part number 1647-9148A81, purchase price $2865.00 (see picture of invoice).  It was run twice for less than 5 hours.  The 200 powerhead was grenaded and the entire outboard was replaced with a new 3.0L.  This lower unit was removed and has sat unused since.  The gear oil is "spotless".
This is a standard rotation, 20" shaft, large hub, 2.0:1 gear ratio.  It is my understanding that the lower unit fits numerous Mercury / Mariner engines, primarily 2.4L in the 150-225 horsepower range -- but please check with your dealer or mechanic to confirm.  I am the original owner of the lower unit and outboard that it came from. For Sale: Evinrude 50hp 1995, bought in 1998. 2cyl, oil injected 2 stroke, power tilt & trim. Lower unit has a hole in it/torn up gears and is no good. It will be removed. There is no hour-meter on the motor, but I imagine it definitely has less than 200 hours, probably less than 150 or 100. (we have only went through 3 gallons of 2stroke oil). Paint is dark metallic blue, emblems are white and red. Paint is in great shape and only a few scratches on the motor cover. It pushed our 19 foot flat bottom Jon, fully loaded with gear, 12 gallons of gas, and 450lbs of people at 31.9mph, tracked on a GPS. It's a strong running motor. Has been 100% reliable, starts on 1st or 2nd crank, and has been winterized each year. Asking $1,850.
