Effective January 1, 2003 at Hillsdale Lake, Crappie less than 10" in length must be returned to the water.

The lake is ice covered and is very thin.  So be careful.

DOUGLAS (SFL)

Report by Sports Cache Bait & Tackle   CLOSED

Water Level: Two feet below full pool.
Water Temperature: 35 degrees
Turbidity: Visibility 42 inches.
Fish Attractors: Not operating.
Fishing Pressure: Very light.
Ice cover: Nearly completely covered, but only ¾ inch thick.

Channel Catfish: None reported. Try shad sides or night-crawlers in deep water off the dam after the ice melts.

Crappie: Poor. Fishing through holes in the ice in about 10 feet of water has been unproductive recently. The ice is too thick for a boat and too thin for walking on.

Flathead Catfish: None reported. Try goldfish in deep water off the dam after the ice melts.

Bluegill Sunfish: None reported. Not normally caught during winter.

Green Sunfish: None reported. Same comment as for bluegill sunfish.

Common Carp: None reported. Not usually caught during winter.

White Amur: None reported. Same comment as for common carp.

MIAMI (SFL)

Closed For Renovation

Dam construction has been completed.
Boat Ramp , courtesy dock and parking facility and new restroom has been completed
Over 250 brushpiles were constructed
Approx. 500 Largemouth Bass 6-20" have been stocked. (They are expecting more to be stocked)

The lake will open January 7, 2004 at 8 a.m., however the boat ramps will remain closed
