Not many fishing for them but Walleye has been fairly good too. Some keepers were brought in one had good size to it but I only have the word of the fisherman. He didn't stop to get a picture of it. So the biggest for the year of 2004 that I have proof of is the one caught May 6 by Tim and Matt Kellogg, which weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces and was 28 inches long. They were back out this week trying their hand at catching an even bigger one. Matt wore the same KC chiefs cap for the best of luck. They were able to keep Walleye just none came in as big as the one they caught in May. Wipers have also been pretty good. Nightcrawlers and the medium or large shiners have been the live bait of the week. Stink baits of the sponge or dough type have been popular too along with the plastic tube worms with treble hooks. Chicken livers went with those that didn't want to mess with the stink baits. Doc Schwemmer's group that went out with Warren Wednesday, July 14th really had a good day. The biggest came in at 13 lbs and then the rest tapered down to the smallest of 4 pounds. This trip was a short and sweet one. Mike Anderson's group on a fishing trip of Saturday, July 10th wasn't too shabby either. Warren has had other trips out but these two have been the better or best of this year so far.
