Water Temp: 75 to 81 degrees
Lake level as of 6/21/04 is 744.68, there are six units of generation and
no flood gates open.
Bass: The 10" Berkley Power worm continues to produce big limits,
junebug and blue fleck are the top colors. The boat dock brush continues to
provide quality fish. The topwater bite is getting better every day, and the
Hart Ticker buzz in black is out performing the rest. Bandit and Bomber
crankbaits are catching fish on the main lake points.
Crappie: Crappie are slow this week, but the ones that are biting are good ones. Minnows and jigs are both working well on the boat docks and the bridge piers. The Berkley Crappie Nibbles in chartreuse and chartreuse sparkle are still being used with the minnows and jigs.
White bass: White bass are biting real well from Sailboat bridge to
Goat Island. There are a good number of the white bass being caught on jigging
spoons in about 15 to 20 ft. in the Horsecreek area. There are more and more white bass
starting to surface feed in the Duck Creek and Horse Creek areas. Berkley Gulp
swimming minnow is by far the hottest bait for casting into the fast feeding white bass.
Bangtail and Beetlespin spinners are catching their share as well.
Catfish: Catfish continue to be caught in the rocks and along the bluffs.
Nightcrawlers and shrimp are the best baits right now. The noodlers are pulling
a lot of big flatheads out of the holes all over Grand this week. Juggers are
putting a killen on the cats right now, and shad, goldfish, and perch are the
baits of choice.
