Level: 4.18 feet low Updated 11/03/04 Report by: Littlefield Sporting Goods Submitted By: Greg Lamb lake level as of 11/2/04 is 741.97, there is no generation and no flood gates open. Bass-After two months of stable conditions here on Grand Lake mother nature has finally stepped in. Overcast skies and on and off rain have made the topwater bite unbelievable! There are several topwater baits working, but the Hart Tricker and Buzz Throb buzzbaits, Zara Spook, and Strom Chug bug are the hottest choices. The Carolina rig bite continues to produce with Zoom Brushhogs and lizards. The dock bite is still producing limits and some kicker fish. Eakins jigs, 10" Power worms, and Berkley Gulp minnow worms are producing the best. The bite is good in the upper river on the logs, Balsa B's and Hart bleeding series spinnerbaits are the top choices of anglers this week. Bandit and Bomber crankbaits are putting their share of fish in the boat this week. Crappie-With everything starting to cool down the crappie continue to bite well on many parts of the lake. Grandpas jigs in chartreuse or pink patterns are the hot ticket. Jigs and minnows both are being teamed with The Berkley Crappie Nibbles in chartreuse. Brush piles in the 6 to 15 ft. ranges are producing the best. The bridge piers are producing well. Catfish-Catfish are really active this week, with good numbers and size using livers, shad, and Danny Kings punch bait. The drift fisherman are putting some quality fish in the boat this week drifting with shad in the 8 to 18 ft. water. Juggers and trotliners are still making good catches on numbers of cats. White bass- White bass are better this week around Sailboat Bridge and Patricia Island. Small crankbaits are producing around the rock piles and main lake points. White bass are moving up on the windy banks and points. The white bass are not being picky about what they hit, so throw your favorite bait.
