Chris. 1st off, You have got the skills to get a bait into the cedar tree and are able to hook the crappie. GOOD!!!! Now to get that rascal outa there. It's a give and take. Give it some line and let it swim out. YES,,, you are gona loose some but if you try and force it out,,, it will get hung up. I was talking to a fisher from Truman who fishes cedars a lot. His method was to give it 2 to 3ft of line and wait till it swims out. Haven't tried it yet. My method is to use a stiff pole and braided line. When I hook one,,, I'll try to bring it out fairly quick. I use 1/8oz jigs for this. Hope this helps ya!! <*)}}}><
