Level: 3.94 feet low Report by Missouri Angler Bait & Tackle The lake level is 656.2 with a water temperature of 55 degrees, which was taken at Bagnell Dam by AmerenUE. The water temperature varies, however, in the bigger creeks and coves and upper portions of the Osage, Gravois, Niangua and Grand Glaize Rivers with surface water temperatures ranging from 55 to 47 degrees. The water is very clear with visibility down to 6 feet. Some areas of the lake have a dingy appearance, but the water visibility is still clear. Bass fishing has improved somewhat, but the angler still needs to put in some extra effort to catch a good limit of keepers. The largemouth and Kentucky's are still spread out and can be caught in shallow and deep water. The best bite is late morning and afternoon. LARGEMOUTH BASS - GOOD The spinnerbait on windy shallow points with chunk rock/pea gravel mixed banks is producing keeper largemouth and also from halfway back to the end of windy creeks arms. The Fluke and Slugo is still producing around shallow and deep docks. The jig n pig and Gitzit worked in brush from the bank out to 15 feet has also produced some keeper largemouth. There have been some reports of keeper largemouth being caught on buzzbaits in the upper portions of the Osage River. SPOTTED BASS (KENTUCKY'S) - GOOD Spinnerbaits and Flukes worked on flat windy main lake and secondary points. The jig n pig is also producing around docks on the steeper chunk rock/pea gravel mix banks and in main lake and creek arm pockets. WHITE BASS - GOOD Rattle Traps, medium diving crankbaits and small spinnerbaits (Mepps, Roadrunners) worked on flat windy main lake and secondary points. Level: 7.50 feet low Report by: Pete's Professional Guide Service DAM AREA, KIMBERLING, BAXTER, CAMPBELL POINT Largemouth are chasing shad in the James in the backs of creeks, from Point #10 to above Cape Fair. Best was from the Bridgeport bridge up as far as you could go. We caught some nice largemouth, slow rolling a spinnerbait through the shad schools. we caught them on a 1/2 oz. Bass Hound spinnerbait w/tandem willow leaf blades, and color were white/chartreuse. You have to go in and out of several before you find the shad, watch close on the surface and on your depth finder. When you find them, stay back about 100" and follow the shad while casting your spinnerbait into them. It takes a lot of patience to follow the schools but you can be rewarded with quality fish. We are also cranking them up on steep chunk rock banks, using Storm wiggle warts-colors-both crawdad and shad patterns. In the Kings River we have been doing a lot of spoon fishing and drop shooting with success, on long sloping points. On the drop shot we were using Root Beer and Green flake French fries, and catching some good ones. We tried several colors but thins one was the best for us on the particular day. Temperature: Level: Report by River Run Outfitters Trout Fishing continues to be very good on Lake Taneycomo. The only problem right now is generation. They have been generating early in the a.m. and running most of the day once or twice week. The rest of the time, they run until early afternoon, or not at all. Fly fishing in the Trophy Trout Area is catching large numbers of fish as well as some nice size fish (18 inches plus). Best flies are: size 14 flashback scud Deep water down below the Trophy Trout Areas is fishing well with 100th oz. olive, or black and yellow jigs and the 128th oz. chartreuse glo-ball. Some of the area fishing docks report that bait fishing has also been good.
