Report by Bud's Bait & Tackle
Stripers 5 to 13lb being caught from horseshoe bend
to the dam. Live bait most productive. A few being caught with jigs.
Walleye on minnows and night crawlers. Finding them in 9 to 20 ft of
water. Minooka and Pelican Point area as well as along the old swim beach off of Lucas
park. Several in the 17 and 18 inch range.
White Perch on worms pretty much lake wide, remember they are good to
eat. So use the little ones for bait and keep the big ones for a fish fry. Wildlife and
Parks still want the anglers to remove them from the lake. So do your part to help with
this rapid reproductive little fish.
Catfish are showing up lake wide. Many on night crawlers but several
biting on shrimp, shad sides and shad gizzards.
Small mouth on the rocky points on minnows as well as many different
types of lures.
Till next week, keep a tight line.
