Zebra Mussels Zebra mussels
can be found attached to rocks lakewide. Zebra mussel veligers are too small
to be seen with the unaided eye and they can be found in boat livewells,
minnow buckets, boat bilges, water toys and anything else that is capable of
holding even a small amount of water. Be sure to drain all equipment before
leaving the lake to avoid moving veligers to other waters. THIS INCLUDES
MINNOW BUCKETS, BOAT LIVEWELLS AND BILGES!!!
White Bass and Wiper Fair
Various Some small white bass and wipers have been caught on small jigs in
the upper end. Look for schools of shad and active fish shouldn't be far
away. If we get a raise in river elevation, look for white bass and wipers
to make their spawning run.
Walleye Good Up to 28" The
walleye spawn is underway and probably on the downhill slide. Most of the
spawn will probably be wrapped up in a week or two. Fish during the night
and early morning for a chance at the big females. Remember, it is illegal
to snag fish. Do not keep foul-hooked walleyes.
Crappie Good Up to 15"
Anglers have found some nice crappie on deep ledges; however, fish are
likely breaking this pattern in transitioning for the approaching spawn.
Most shallow brush is out of the water due to the low lake level. Hopefully
we get some runoff in the spring and the crappie can get into shallow
structure and get a good spawn off.
Channel Catfish Good Up to
10 lb Fish on windblown shores lakewide. As usual, Catfishing should be
good in 2013. Channel cats over 20 pounds were sampled in gill nets and the
population looks like it is in good shape.
White Perch White
perch cannot be used as live bait, but they do make good cut bait. Back

time wiper. Wiper are usually caught along with the white bass so be sure to
examine your catch closely as there is a 18-inch length limit and 2/day
creel on wipers!

recently in both the coves and the creeks with some fish running 14-inches.
